WHAT YOU NEED FOR THE SCREENING:
- A DVD player
- A TV or projection screen large enough for everyone in the room to see.
TIPS:
- If you are hosting the screening at a public place please check the equipment first. Make sure the speakers are loud enough so everyone in the room will be able to hear.
- Make sure you get approval on using a public place/school/room/church hall first, before you start inviting your guests.
- If you need an Authorization letter please download it from the website or find it on your DVD.
- Use as many posters and postcards as you like!
- If you want to really make a bang at your screenings, feel free to buy our great T-shirts and hats from the website. They’re also great for raffles.
INCLUDED IN THE HOUSE PARTY KIT:
- “My Child: Mothers of War” documentary (94 min.). Winner of The Directors’ Choice Awards at Cinequest Film Festival.
- Extra Feature: New footage of never-before-seen moms (28 min.)
- House Party Tool Kit.
- Press Release - This is a great way to publicize your House Party to the local press. Using the template on the DVD-ROM or the website, make all the necessary changes on your computer to match your screening information, print it and send it to your local TV/Radio Stations and newspapers in your town. The press is very eager to cover events as worthy as this one. The more press the film receives, the larger audience the film will have!
- Posters – Again, use the template on the DVD-ROM or on the website to customize the poster with all your screening information. For example: location of the event, screening time, organization sponsoring it and contact number or email. Post these posters around town or in your office cafeteria or at your town hall meetings. They will attract a lot of attention and get people talking about the film!
- Invitations – By making adjustments to the template, these can also be emailed to everyone you know notifying them about the screening.
- Flyer – Can also be adjusted to your screening needs and emailed or handed out.
- Sign-in Sheet – The sign-in sheet for your guests is REQUIRED at every screening. Please make sure that you send us back a completed sign-in sheet with the name of every person who attended the screening. This is extremely important to our production. You can email it to: angeliki@HumanRE.com or mail it to: 13547 Ventura Blvd #188 Sherman Oaks, CA 91423 or fax it to: 866 848-4613. It is necessary that we receive the sign-in sheet within a week after your screening.
- Suggested Discussion Questions - The included questions are wonderful for discussion after the movie. Please encourage your guests to have a discussion after you watch the film. The power of bringing people together is extraordinary. Give your guests an opportunity to share their thoughts and concerns about the film. People usually are very emotional after the film. Please be comforting and supportive especially if there are military moms present! This film brings up a lot of memories for them. The beauty of this film is the power it has to bring people’s hearts closer together even if they just met! Open a non-judgmental dialogue between your guests and allow everyone to share their feelings and points of view. The discussion, coupled with the film, guarantees that when people leave the screening they will be thinking about this film for weeks.
